Einstein, Doc's dog, is the first to travel through time. When Doc is about to go through time, the Libyans turn up and kill Doc. Marty hops into the DeLorean and speeds off. He floors it and accidently goes through time to 1955! Marty is now stuck here because he has no plutonium!
Marty goes into town and finds his Dad, George McFly, in the local milkbar. Marty leaves him for a second to get Doc's phone number and when he returns George is gone! He later finds him perving on his Mum, Lorraine Baines! George falls out of a tree and is about to get hit by Lorraines Dad! Marty saves him, but gets hit instead! Now we have our first MAJOR PARADOX (As Doc would say). George will never meet Lorraine and they will never fall in love. This means no Marty McFly! Lorraine is now in love with Marty!
So Marty finds Doc. They figure out that to get the power that they need, only lightning will get Marty home. Luckily they know where it will strike, the clocktower! So now Marty has to get his parents together and still manage to get home!
Well if you want the complete plot go to the plot page!
Now you know a bit about what happens, you most likely want to know about the special effects! Well for 1985, these are awesome! A good example is the clocktower scene. Lightning hitting the clocktower is very realistic, and the DeLorean going through time is very memorable! I love how well these are done. These are great considering that they didn't have the technology that we have today. I think that if Back to the Future was released today the special effects would still be good enough, that's how good they are! But the best thing about this movie is that it doesn't just rely on the special effects, it has a great story and good, quality actors.
The actors are very good. Doc (Christopher Llyod) seems more crazy in this movie than the others in the series, and Marty (Michael J. Fox) is very believable as a teenager at school. They create a great duo that is very enjoyable to watch. Biff (Thomas F. Wilson) is great too. Some of the scenes with him a great. He is good as a bad guy (Figure that one out)! Other important roles are George and Lorraine, which are terrific. All of the actors are believable and do very well.
So overall I liked this movie. In fact I enjoyed the whole series. The stories are great, the acting is great and the special effects are great! I would give this movie a 8 out of 10. No movie is ever perfect but this is as close as it gets for 1985! I totally recommend this movie to anyone.
